What does a blue blouse, a loaded gun, and Aegis have in common?

A major U.S. airport where Aegis Intelligent Integration software is installed.

A person was putting their suitcase through security at a TSA security checkpoint. The suitcase was flagged to have a closer look. They discovered a loaded gun in the suitcase. TSA security hit the panic button. The owner of the suitcase did not claim their suitcase but left the baggage security check area in the airport.

This caused an alarm to be activated in Aegis in the airport security monitoring center. Immediately Aegis activated the correct cameras at the TSA Security Checkpoint and put them on the appropriate monitors. The video displayed showed real-time live video along with recorded video for a specified time on either side of the alarm date/time stamp.

Using Aegis, the operators were able to identify the person who left the suitcase: a woman wearing a blue blouse. They used the “grab image” feature in Aegis to get a snapshot of her and send it to the officers patrolling the concourse. In Aegis, the operators looked at cameras on the concourse on either side of the TSA Checkpoint by clicking on the camera icon on the Aegis map. This action put the video on the monitors for viewing. They were able to locate the lady in the blue blouse within 3 minutes of the panic alarm utilizing the Aegis software.

Aegis has made the airport police more effective and efficient and the airport safer.
